This role involves performing complex diagnostics and mechanical repairs to ensure vehicles operate at peak performance and safety levels. It requires a high level of technical precision and strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines within a high-volume workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive periodic maintenance services and major mechanical repairs including engine and transmission overhauling.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and OBD scanners to accurately identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
- Execute repairs on suspension, braking systems, and air conditioning units following OEM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain high standards of workshop hygiene and ensure all tools and equipment are handled according to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to provide detailed technical reports and cost estimates for additional required repairs.
- Document all repair activities, parts used, and labor hours accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Ensure 100% compliance with 'Fixed Right First Time' (FRFT) protocols to eliminate repeat vehicle complaints.
- Mentor junior technicians and apprentices on technical best practices and workshop safety.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automobile dealership workshop.
- Proven expertise in engine overhauling and complex mechanical troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of multi-brand or OEM-specific diagnostic software and hardware.
- A valid four-wheeler driving license for testing and moving vehicles within the premises.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins accurately.
- Physical stamina to work in a demanding workshop environment for extended shifts.
Preferred
- Current OEM certification (Level 2 or higher) from a reputed car or commercial vehicle brand.
- Experience working with BS6 and BS6.2 emission technology and components.
- Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) architecture and high-voltage safety.
