This role involves overseeing daily workshop operations to ensure efficient vehicle throughput and high-quality maintenance standards. It acts as a critical link between the technical team and service advisors to deliver a seamless service experience for every customer while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribute job cards to technicians based on skill levels and workload to optimize workshop productivity and floor flow.
- Conduct rigorous final quality checks on all serviced vehicles to ensure First Time Right (FTR) delivery and minimize repeat repairs.
- Monitor technician performance and provide on-the-job training for complex diagnostic issues and new vehicle technologies.
- Coordinate closely with the spare parts department to ensure timely availability of components for ongoing repairs and minimize vehicle downtime.
- Supervise the maintenance of workshop equipment and ensure strict compliance with OEM safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist Service Advisors in explaining technical repairs and estimates to customers to maintain transparency and trust.
- Manage workshop floor discipline and ensure adherence to 5S methodology and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor daily workshop targets and prepare reports on technician productivity and efficiency for the Service Manager.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automotive service center (4-wheeler or 2-wheeler).
- In-depth knowledge of modern vehicle diagnostics, engine overhauling, and electrical systems.
- Proven experience in managing a team of at least 10-15 technicians and helpers.
- Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) like Autoline, SAP, or proprietary OEM software.
- Strong understanding of workshop safety protocols and quality control processes.
- Excellent command over the local language and functional English communication.
Preferred
- Prior experience working with Tier-1 OEM dealerships (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra).
- Valid four-wheeler driving license with a clean driving record.
- Certification in advanced automotive diagnostics or EV powertrain systems.

Work Environment
On-site workshop environment with a standard 6-day work week (9 AM - 6 PM). The role involves active movement across the workshop floor and coordination with multiple departments.
