This leadership role involves overseeing the entire financial operations and accounting functions of an authorized automotive dealership. The focus is on ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining healthy cash flow, and managing complex OEM reconciliations to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the accounts team in daily bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and comprehensive financial reporting for the dealership.
- Manage end-to-end OEM reconciliation, including incentive claims, warranty payouts, and vehicle procurement accounts.
- Oversee statutory compliance for GST, TDS, and Income Tax filings as per Indian regulations and deadlines.
- Prepare and present monthly Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and MIS reports for management review.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial audits.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements, including bank reconciliations and corporate loan management.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely settlements with vendors and customers.
- Implement robust internal controls to prevent financial leakages and ensure data integrity within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of core accounting experience, specifically within the automotive retail or OEM sector.
- Strong proficiency in Tally ERP 9/Prime and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as Autoline, Oracle, or proprietary OEM software.
- In-depth knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
- Proven track record of managing a team of finance professionals.
- Ability to handle bank audits and statutory audit requirements independently.
Preferred
- Experience working with major Indian automotive brands (Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, etc.).
- Exposure to inventory management and valuation within an automotive workshop and spare parts context.
- Professional certification in GST or Tax Management.
