Oversees daily service operations to ensure peak efficiency and high-quality repairs at the authorized service center. This role focuses on optimizing workshop throughput while maintaining strict adherence to OEM guidelines and safety protocols to drive customer satisfaction.
Manage the end-to-end workshop floor operations, including job card opening, technician allocation, and final quality inspection.
Lead and mentor a team of Service Advisors and Technicians to achieve daily productivity and labor revenue targets.
Ensure 100% compliance with OEM service standards, workshop manual procedures, and safety regulations.
Monitor and control Repeat Repair cases through rigorous quality checks and detailed root cause analysis.
Collaborate with the Parts Department to ensure timely availability of spares and minimize vehicle downtime (VDP).
Handle high-level customer escalations regarding service quality or technical issues to maintain high CSI scores.
Oversee the maintenance of workshop machinery, diagnostic tools, and specialized equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Analyze daily workshop MIS reports to track performance against monthly service and parts targets.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an authorized automotive service center (Car/CV/2W).
Strong technical understanding of modern vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as SAP, Autoline, or internal OEM portals.
Proven track record of managing a team of technicians and support staff in a high-pressure environment.
In-depth knowledge of workshop KPIs including Bay Productivity, Technician Efficiency, and VOC.
Valid driving license for the relevant vehicle category.
Prior experience working with a major OEM brand like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
Certification from an OEM in Workshop Management or advanced technical diagnostics.
Familiarity with lean workshop practices and 5S methodology.
Diagnostic Tool Proficiency, Inventory Management, Workshop KPI Analysis, DMS Operations, P&L Awareness
Leadership, Conflict Resolution, Customer Relationship Management, Time Management, Effective Communication
Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering; Diploma (ITI) holders with extensive experience will be considered.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of core workshop management or senior supervisory experience in the Indian automotive industry.
Certifications: OEM Certified Workshop Manager, Safety and Compliance Certification, Customer Service Excellence Certification
Fast-paced on-site workshop environment within an authorized dealership. Standard 6-day work week (9 AM - 7:30 PM) with a focus on floor management and technical supervision.
Successful candidates can progress to Service Manager roles, manage multiple workshop locations, or transition into Regional Service Head positions within the OEM network.
