This role serves as the final quality gatekeeper, ensuring every vehicle meets rigorous brand standards before it reaches the customer. It involves meticulous technical inspections, diagnostic validations, and coordination across departments to guarantee a flawless delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-delivery inspections (PDI) following the OEM-mandated checklist for all new vehicles arriving from the factory.
- Identify and rectify minor technical issues, fluid levels, tire pressure, and battery health to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Install authorized accessories and perform necessary software or firmware updates as per the customer's specific order.
- Conduct short-distance road tests to verify engine performance, braking efficiency, and the absence of abnormal NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) levels.
- Coordinate with the detailing and washing teams to ensure the vehicle's interior and exterior aesthetics meet showroom standards.
- Accurately document all inspection findings and clearance reports in the Dealer Management System (DMS) for audit compliance.
- Maintain the PDI bay and tools in accordance with 5S standards and safety protocols.
- Report any major transit damages or manufacturing defects to the Workshop Manager immediately for warranty processing.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years of proven experience in a workshop or PDI environment within the automotive industry.
- Valid permanent four-wheeler driving license is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools and scanners.
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Willingness to work in a 6-day week schedule as per standard dealership hours.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with a reputed OEM authorized dealership (Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, etc.).
- Basic certification or training in Electric Vehicle (EV) safety and high-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with inventory management and workshop flow processes.
